The Cath Lab 4 on the first floor of The University Hospital, Coventry and Warwickshire underwent a complete refurbishment, Arden undertook the building fabric activities under Skanska and working alongside Skanska’s M&E contractors.
The works were undertaken in phases due to the ward remaining operational as far as possible. Due to the complex nature of the M&E the works are over 4 phases and Arden were working around the programme of the M&E Contractors. Activities were undertaken at short notice. |
Phase 1 and 2 involved the area being divided into two so the Pacing and Viewing rooms were still operational, phase 1 and 2 included the strip out and reconfiguration to form a new store, new Cath Lab co-ordinators desk, 2 new recovery bays, new disabled toilet, new patient waiting area and new departmental corridor.
Phase 3 and 4 involved the hospital staff decanting over to the completed Phase 1 and 2 works, Arden then commenced converting the existing Pacing Room, Viewing Room and corridor into a new Cardio Cath Lab 4 Main Scrub, Tech Room, lobby, store and control room. |
The Phased works involved general strip outs, new partition walls, IPSs units, doors, vinyl floors and anti static flooring, suspended ceiling, cubicles, window blinds, bedheads, bump rails, wall protection, corner guards, signage and general decorations. Throughout the phases we’ve installed hoarding and air lock segregation areas, health and safety and safe working methods were paramount due to the department being live and operational throughout the works.
