Before starting work on Alcester Grammar School, we were asked to undertake a survey to identify any materials containing asbestos. Once identified, we removed the materials during the early stages of the contract.
As part of the project, we completely refurbished the sixth form girls toilet, which included stripping out the old washroom, fixtures and fittings, laying new flooring, adding a suspended ceiling, new vanity units, lighting and recess lighting, decorating and fitting IPS panelling.
We enhanced the library with a new door entrance, internal decorations and flooring, and we paved an external area with ramps outside the library and the sixth form block.
The contract also included refurbishing various classrooms and the Student Services area, which involved reconfiguring an existing area to create a new quiet space, constructing a new partitioning, M&E installations and removing asbestos.
All activities were programmed to a strict timetable to ensure works were completed before the start of term.
