Hanley Castle High School required the re-roofing of the main administration and original school buildings.
The works that Arden Construction undertook involved the stripping down of the existing tiles and replacement with reclaimed tiles or reinstatement where possible with the existing tiles, as well as window joinery and replacement of gutters and down pipes.
Hanley Castle High School dates back to 1326 as a chantry school, some of the buildings we were working on dates back to the 17th Century and is Grade II Listed, elements of the work included the rebuilding of the bell tower, which involved using traditional oak and a new carved board to match the existing listed building.
These works were undertaken in a live school environment, over the difficult winter conditions we had at the beginning of the year.
